Tip of the week: Highlighting your moderators
Posted on December 16 by gianniiEach publisher on Disqus today can apply updates to the appearance of their embed theme, with some built-in options available under your Appearance Settings in the admin, by using Custom CSS, or by utilizing our Theme Editor (a paid add-on) for more advanced customizations.
Today we’re going to add a small piece of CSS code to change the header color for your editors, authors, moderators, or site founders with moderator status on your site. This helps anyone visiting or commenting on your site immediately identify that these comments are coming from your staff.

To apply this change you will need to open your Appearance Settings in the Admin and scroll down to the Custom CSS field.
In the example provided below look for the code #FFFFFF which is the HEX code for the color White. If that doesn’t really make much sense to you, you can use this HEX code color chart to help you pick the right color for you.
#dsq-content .dsq-moderator .dsq-comment-header { background: #FFFFFF !important; }After saving your changes it can sometimes take up to five minutes for them to appear depending on caching with your site.
Keep an eye out for more tips in the coming weeks on how to better utilize Disqus for your site.
