We've just released a significant update to Disqus Polls that will help publishers better capture their audiences' attention and keep them engaged and on-site for even longer.
With this update, Disqus Polls offers a more modern, responsive design built to look great on any site, anywhere on the page. We're also introducing a new post-submission call-to-action (CTA), giving publishers a new way to drive readers to related content after they're done participating in the poll.
Here’s what’s new:
A Cleaner, More Responsive Poll Design
Disqus Polls has been visually upgraded to better meet the needs of modern websites — and grab the attention of your readers.
Design highlights include:
- Larger, more open layout that’s fully responsive and automatically expands to fit longer answer lists — no more scroll bars
- Smooth animations when the poll appears on screen or when users hover over answer choices, adding a greater sense of interactivity
- Higher contrast between background, text, and buttons — so the poll visually pops on the page
- Larger, bolder submit button that feels more prominent and encourages participation
- Thoughtful visual refinements — from spacing to alignment — for a cleaner, more intuitive user experience without disrupting familiarity
Notably, polls now responsively adapt to fit wherever you place them in (within reasonable limits), so they feel like a natural part of your content and not something tacked on.
These updates not only improve usability across desktop and mobile but also make the poll module more visually stimulating — increasing the likelihood that users will stop, read, and engage.
New: Post-Submission CTAs That Keep the Journey Going
We’ve added a new post-submission call-to-action (CTA) feature to help publishers extend engagement after a user casts their vote. Now, after a user completes a poll, you can choose to display a simple call-to-action with a clickable link to a destination of your choice.
The link enables you to redirect poll respondents anywhere — it could be a related article or a conversion page — wherever you want your audiences to go next. It’s an easy, lightweight way to deepen engagement and guide users toward more of your content.
You can add a CTA in the Poll Editor when setting up your new poll. For more detailed instructions, see here.
