I’m sure by now you’ve seen the hysteria, jokes, memes, articles, and watched the 2 documentaries about the infamous Fyre Festival🔥. If not, please shield your eyes, stop reading now, and don’t come back until you do! Because spoilers, y’all!!
After much anticipation, two documentaries that give a behind-the-scenes look into Fyre Festival recently debuted on Netflix and Hulu, giving Disqus commenters plenty to talk about over these last couple of months. Sorting through thousands of comments on the topic, we picked out some of our favorites.
Fyre Festival promised a VIP experience on the island of Great Exuma in the Bahamas, but quickly turned into a nightmare. Attendees were stranded with soaking, half-built, huts to sleep in and cold cheese sandwiches served in styrofoam boxes to eat. Here's what happened: The three-day party was supposed to be on a private beach in the Bahamas 🌴, and it was publicized as an "immersive music festival" with a host of supermodels promoting it on social media, including Hailey Baldwin, Emily Ratajkowski, Kendall Jenner, and Bella Hadid. Sounds great, right? What could go wrong!
Of course, after seeing the promotional videos, images, and Instagram posts, the guests expected to party on white-sand beaches with A-list celebrities, bottomless cocktails, and luxury housing. But when they turned up, the scene looked like anything but the advertisements...
